The two-day event puts a Shibuya spin on the traditional Japanese dance festival, mixing bon odori with dance music and the neighborhood’s culture of music and fashion. Best of all, everyone is welcome to join in, regardless of dance experience.

Moon Art Night Shimokitazawa

 

The spectacular Moon Art Night returns to Shimokitazawa this September. Once again, the moon will take over the neighborhood as large-scale art installations transform Shimokitazawa into an open-air art space. The event also brings exciting collaborations with local shops, galleries, cafes, and restaurants, alongside live performances, markets, and workshops. There’s even a stamp rally to follow as you make your way around the neighborhood.

TENNOZ ART WEEK 2026

 

 

TENNOZ ART WEEK 2026 will take place across Tennoz, an arts district along Tokyo’s waterfront, bringing together an art fair, exhibitions, workshops, and more over four days. One highlight is the rare chance to step inside TERRADA ART STUDIO Tennoz, where artists’ working studios, normally closed to the public, will open their doors for the event. Visitors can also explore contemporary art throughout TERRADA ART COMPLEX, experience a night museum, and even try traditional Japanese painting techniques.

Kamihaku in Tokyo vol.13

 

If you can never leave a stationery store empty-handed, Kamihaku in Tokyo vol.13 is made for you. Bringing together illustrators, designers, stationery brands, printers, and paper makers from Japan and overseas, the event takes over four floors of the Tokyo Metropolitan Industrial Trade Center Taito-kan. Browse everything from stationery and art prints to paper goods and other creations, shop directly from creators, and take part in workshops along the way.

Kishiwada Danjiri Matsuri

 

Experience one of Osaka’s most thrilling traditional festivals at the Kishiwada Danjiri Matsuri. The Kishiwada Danjiri Matsuri has more than 300 years of history, with multiple teams pulling massive, intricately carved wooden danjiri floats through the streets of Kishiwada. One of the biggest highlights is yarimawashi, when teams maneuver the floats around sharp street corners at speed. Come evening, the atmosphere changes as the danjiri are illuminated with hundreds of lanterns and slowly make their way through the streets.
