This spring, Hiroshima will welcome a new lifestyle hotel as Mercure Tokyu Stay Hiroshima opens in the heart of the bustling Hachobori district on May 18, 2026.
Situated within walking distance of major landmarks such as Hiroshima Castle and Peace Memorial Park, the hotel offers an ideal base for exploring both the city and the wider region. Designed as more than just accommodation, the hotel embraces the concept of living like a local, inviting travelers to experience Hiroshima’s history, culture, and everyday rhythm while staying in the heart of the city.

The hotel’s design is guided by the concept “Beauty of light on water,” drawing inspiration from Hiroshima’s natural landscape, from the Ota River flowing into the Seto Inland Sea to the elegant silhouette of Itsukushima shrine. This interplay of movement and light is reflected throughout the hotel’s architecture and interiors. Gentle curves, subtle textures, and carefully designed lighting evoke the shimmering water and the quiet elegance of Hiroshima’s surroundings. Rather than relying on ornate decorations, the design emphasizes refined details and materials that quietly reflect the character of the region.

The hotel features 182 guest rooms, each designed with comfort and spaciousness in mind. With an average size of 23 square meters, the rooms offer a relaxing environment suited to both short visits and longer stays. A range of room types accommodates two to four guests, making the hotels suitable for couples, families, and groups of friends traveling together.
True to Tokyu Stay’s concept of helping guests feel at home, every guest room is equipped with a washer-dryer and microwaves, making it easy for travelers to pack lighter and settle in comfortably.

Situated just a two-minute walk from Hatchobori Station on the Hiroshima Electric Railway, Mercure Tokyu Stay Hiroshima offers a highly convenient base for exploring the city. Major landmarks such as Hiroshima Castle, Peace Memorial Park, and the Hiroshima Peace Memorial Museum are all within walking distance. The surrounding Hatchobori neighborhood is also known for its lively atmosphere, with shopping arcades, department stores, restaurants, and bars located nearby.
From the hotel, visitors can also easily venture beyond the city to explore some of the region’s most famous destinations, including Miyajima Island, Onomichi, and the scenic Shimanami Kaido cycling route.
With its prime central location and thoughtfully designed spaces, Mercure Tokyu Stay Hiroshima offers travelers a welcoming base from which to discover the city. Guests can explore Hiroshima at their own pace, whether starting the day with a morning stroll through the castle-town streets, spending the afternoon sightseeing or shopping, or ending the evening like a local with a drink by the riverside.
