Japan’s Only and Most Exclusive Fireworks Event Returns: The Zekkei Fireworks 2026

Dec. 11. 2025 PR

Set against the majestic backdrop of Mt. Fuji, The Zekkei Fireworks @ Mt. Fuji 2026 – Kokon Musou returns this spring with an unrivaled display crafted by Japan’s leading fireworks masters. In spring, with traces of lingering snow still blanketing the mountain and early cherry blossoms lining the foothills, Mt. Fuji transforms into an extraordinary natural stage for this one-night-only event. Fireworks reflect brilliantly off the snow-covered slopes, creating a spectacle that honors the mountain’s enduring grandeur.

As the only fireworks festival held within Mt. Fuji’s first-station grounds, Zekkei Fireworks offers a rare opportunity to experience fireworks not simply as entertainment, but as a form of Japanese artistry–honed by tradition and reimagined through innovation. Each burst engages all five senses through brilliant light, resonant sound, and subtle vibrations that ripple through the air, creating a fully immersive performance.

Here’s why you need to experience this event:

Springtime at Mt. Fuji:

A sacred peak, a UNESCO World Heritage Site, and one of Japan’s most enduring national symbols, Mt. Fuji provides an incomparable setting for fireworks. In spring, melting snow and budding blossoms combine to create a one-of-a-kind viewing experience.

Collaboration Among Japan’s Top Fireworks Masters:

The event once again brings together Japan’s most celebrated fireworks houses: Aoki Fireworks Company, Isogai Fireworks Company, Saiki Fireworks Company, and Kikuya Obata Fireworks Company, each with more than a century of history and multiple Prime Minister’s Awards. In 2026, they will be joined by the equally exceptional Kita Nihon Fireworks Industry from Omagari, Akita, home to one of Japan’s leading fireworks competitions and a pioneer of character fireworks, participating as a guest fireworks producer–will join them. Together, these five houses deliver a fireworks experience exclusive to The Zekkei Fireworks.

A Viewing Experience Designed for Comfort and Immersion:

Although the venue can accommodate more than 10,000 people, the event is limited to just 3,000 seats, ensuring uninterrupted views and a luxurious, serene atmosphere. From arrival to the grand finale, there is no crowding at all, allowing guests to fully immerse themselves in the beauty of world-class fireworks and experience a scale found nowhere else.
